Together with your sample script you will also need to submit a 1-page pitch for a television drama series/serial (this must be a separate idea from your sample script) and answers to some questions about your writing history and interest in writing for television. The scenes are numbered and the scene numbers are displayed at the top of each page along with the page numbers. This is so that writers will be able to display that they already have the craft skills necessary to work at the intensity required for the Pilot scheme, as well as showing a commitment to writing for UK television. The text in the script is spaced out much more so than in a screenplay a page of a screenplay translates into about a minute of screen time, while a page of a sitcom teleplay translates into about 30 seconds of screen time. From this year, we will only accept sample scripts which have been written specifically as Television Dramas or Comedy-Dramas.
